Hi! Welcome to Life with the Sheas. I’m Emily Shea. Wife. Mama of four little ones. Lover of God. Yoga fanatic. Real food foodie. Home Designer and Fashion Stylist for 6 (…on a big fam in grad school budget). Enthusiast for life.
Why the blog?
Well, I turned 30 about a month prior to this first post, and entering a new decade of life has me pondering what it means to live well. I started exploring books and blogs, praying through my questions, meditating, and decided that there’s no easy answer. It is going to be a journey of discovery. One post I stumbled across was 115 Ways to Be a Better Mom from Danielle at Today’s the Best Day, and it inspired to me invite you into my journey. So, here we are! Hope you find some inspiration here for your journey.
A little bit about The Sheas.
I grew up as a pastor’s kid in Central Illinois. Met my husband in July 2008 and married him December 2008 (a little spontaneity anyone??). We started our journey together with a bang, and had our first baby boy that next fall. Ty was a teacher and I did social work, but in 2013 we felt God was calling us to attend seminary in Missouri. So here we are. Ty, me, and our four kids (3 boys and a girl) under the age of 6, living in a tiny little campus apartment, going through grad school together! Five semesters down, two to go! It has been an adventure thus far! I hope you can finds some wisdom, laughs, companionship, and encouragement as you read along.
Thanks for visiting!
